1. Informational Data Only
PermitBase provides permit and licensing data tools for informational purposes only. The data returned by the PermitBase API and website does not constitute legal advice, regulatory guidance, or a determination of your compliance obligations. No attorney-client relationship is created by your use of this service.
2. Verify with Government Authorities
Permit and licensing requirements vary by jurisdiction, business type, and circumstances and are subject to change without notice. You are solely responsible for verifying all requirements directly with the relevant federal, state, and local government authorities before operating your business, submitting applications, or making any compliance decisions. PermitBase does not guarantee that the data returned reflects current, complete, or jurisdiction-specific requirements for your situation.
3. No Guarantee of Data Accuracy
PermitBase makes reasonable efforts to maintain accurate and up-to-date data from public sources. However, we make no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or timeliness of any data provided through the API or website.
API responses may include coverage status, source URLs, authority names, timestamps, and review indicators to help you assess a result. These fields do not guarantee accuracy or completeness.
4. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PermitBase's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the service - whether in contract, tort, or otherwise - is limited to the total fees paid by you to PermitBase in the three (3) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
In no event shall PermitBase be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of data, business interruption, or regulatory fines, even if PermitBase has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the PermitBase API only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may not resell, redistribute, or sublicense raw API data to third parties without written permission. You may not use the service to build a competing permit data product or to attempt to reverse-engineer PermitBase's database.
6. Changes to These Terms
PermitBase reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made.
